The Prisoners!

Hi dear friends! This time I will speak to you about The Prisoners, my favourite music group when I was a teen...

The Prisoners were a Chilean rock band, very known in Latin American. Originally they were three members: Jorge González, Claudio Narea and Miguel Tapia. They were great because with their instruments: electric guitar, bass and drums, only three, they played fantastic music.

The group began to play in the 1980s when they were in high school. They were great friends. Their main characteristic is that their lyrics expressed a social criticism, which became the anthems of the opposition sectors to the South American dictatorships, in the Chilean case, to Augusto Pinochet.

They published four discs when they were together: “80s’s voice”, “Kicking stones”, “Trash culture” and “Hearts”. After, they separated in 1990 because they had problems; Jorge Gonzalez y Miguel Tapia continued playing until 1991.

They newly meet in 2001 and they were very successful. They completed twice the National Stadium; therefore, they approximately congregated 160.000 persons. They played until 2006 when they separated again.

I loved them when I was a teen, I knew all their songs and I still sing them. In my opinion, their first disc is the greatest one, it only contain hits.

Do you like or liked The Prisoners?

See you soon.

  1. Hello <3 I believe that the music of The Prisioner it´s a little soft, and I prefer a stronger rock, but some years ago I liked a boy that love them, and when we talk inevitably I knew some things about them, and I thought that was a very good band, because he said things that nobody try to say in that time.
